ABOUT
Life is hard. Pain is real. Grief is heavy. Loneliness is epidemic. We weren't made to experience the valleys of Life alone. We need a space to be known, seen, loved, and reminded we aren't alone. We gather every week to be reminded of exactly that. Text "gathering" to 2139847710 for details on how to join us. We would love to meet you.

beliefs
we are a community built on love and authenticity centered around the teachings of Jesus, and these are the core beliefs our leaders hold to be true. These are not beliefs required for acceptance. everyone belongs here regardless of belief, but we want you to know what we hold true. otherwise, our claims of being authentic would fall flat. if you have questions, let us know. we would love to get you a coffee and have a conversation.
01
sola scriptura
When it comes to how we live, love, and relate to God and others, the Bible is the ultimate authority. We submit every aspect of our lives to its authority, and filter our experience through its lens - not vice versa.
02
sola gratia
We are a people steeped in grace. It is wholly an act of grace anyone knows Jesus and receives the gift of salvation. There is nothing inside any of us that moves God to save us. From our first prayer to our final breath, grace is what gets us home.
03
sola fide
Faith alone is the means God uses to save us. Faith is wholly a gift, and cannot be earned or willed into being. No amount of good works, moral standards, right speaking, positive thinking, or philanthropic actions give us access to Jesus and entrance to His kingdom.

solus christus
There is but one Savior, King, Ruler, and Creator, and His name is Jesus. Salvation is found nowhere else. Healing for the human heart is found in no other place or person. He alone gives us access to the Father. In him alone we live, move, and have our being.
05
soli deo gloria
We do not exist to make much of ourselves, but to point everyone to the goodness, grace, and glory of Jesus. In our preaching, in our singing, in our gathering, and in our living, we seek to see Jesus receive all the glory. He alone is worthy.

We believe beauty transcends all cultures, times, and places. It reflects the character and glory of God and embodies wonder, goodness, and awe- helping reveal the order and splendor of the Creator. While culture often distorts beauty, treating it as something to use, abuse, and manipulate, we are called to preserve, protect, and celebrate it as a reflection of God’s glory. The source of all beauty is the One who exists in inexhaustible radiant splendor- the Father of heavenly lights- giving us a vision for beauty to carry into every part of our lives and world.
beau·ty
/ˈbyo͞odē/
noun
excellent or appealing in quality; inducing awe
THEOLOGY:
of Beauty
We believe brokenness is a universal reality, a reflection of a world that is not yet made right. Brokenness comes in all forms whether that is physical, emotional, or spiritual. At times it arises from our own choices, and at other times from the brokenness around us. In every circumstance, we were not made to bear it alone, and need others to walk alongside us. Walking with Jesus does not erase our suffering, but it reshapes how we understand it, offering grace, hope, and the freedom to face our struggles honestly. The Church is called to be a safe place where we can lay down our masks and share our pain without fear of judgment or condemnation. we Imitate Jesus by running towards the brokenness around us, and reflect His compassion and kindness to a hurting world.

We believe creativity flows from the One who imagined the world and then spoke it into existence. as His image-bearers, we reflect Jesus most fully when, guided by His Spirit, we create. Historically, the Church has been a home for some of the greatest artistic feats and brightest minds, but in more recent times it has failed creatives, treating them as commodities or condemning certain forms of expression. how we imagine shapes how we create. We honor Jesus as the source and originator of imagining and creating, and we reclaim the church tradition of creative excellence, while providing a space where creatives can flourish. In celebrating creativity, we bear witness to the Divine Imagination, and invite others to see God’s beauty and truth reflected through human expression.
We believe that happiness is the heart of God. He is a happy God, and His children are happy. Our world will tell us a million different ways to be happy, and every one of those ways works. For a time. But eventually, they will all come up empty. The Christian life is a happy life. That doesn’t mean sorrow, depression, pain, and suffering cease to exist. But we do not believe that pain and happiness are opposed to each other. We believe there is a happiness that runs deeper than any pain or heartache or sorrow could ever dream of reaching, and that happiness is available to every person on the planet.

We believe culture is not a battlefield to conquer, nor an enemy to oppose, but a place where God calls us to live, speak, and bear witness. Placed in a specific time and space with purpose, we are called to engage culture thoughtfully, faithfully, courageously, and winsomely by celebrating what reflects God’s truth, challenging what distorts it, and always pointing to Jesus. The Church is not meant to stand apart from culture, nor to wield power over it, but to dwell within it as a living witness, bringing light, hope, and beauty into every corner of human life. In all we do, our aim is to make much of Jesus, shaping the world around us with the love, kindness, and wisdom of His Spirit.

___________
Theology is formed from two greek words- theos and logos. theos means god, and logos means reason, speech, principle. Below, are six god shaped principles or theologies of elements to our world that valleyhouse emphasizes. theology is inexhaustible because god is inexhaustible, and these are not more important than other theologies. rather, these are the ones closest to our heart. we believe our current cultural moment needs to know that god's speech addresses these, and hear what he has to say.
We believe friendship is a sacred institution, reflecting the very nature of God and forming the foundation of how we relate to Him and to one another. Friendship is the means that God uses to make love tangible. We are not meant to walk alone; faith grows in the soil of deep, honest, and authentic friendship. True community cannot exist apart from relationships marked by commitment, trust, and grace. While we are not called to be everyone’s closest friend, we are each called to walk closely with some, bearing one another’s burdens and sharing one another’s joys. At ValleyHouse, we seek to be a place where such friendships are formed and strengthened, embodying the love of Christ through faithful friendship.
